Tae Kwon Do

Our Mission

The program mission is to introduce urban youth to the world of Martial Arts so that they obtain skills that will enhance their focus, physical fitness and improve their self-esteem. 

About the Program

Tae Kwon Do program is led by 3rd degree Black Belt, Dale Smith, who is a member of the Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Fame.

The program has been in existence since 2012 in that time the program has successfully competed in local AAU Tae Kwon Do tournaments where several of its students have won  medals while also qualifying to compete in the AAU National Tae Kwon Do Tournament held in Fort Laudable Florida. 

​

Many of the parents of the Central family life Center Tae Kwon Do Program have reported that their children have improved in school due to being a member of the Tae Kwon Do program.

Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Metropolitan Tae Kwon Do

On Saturday 3-30-19 The CFLC Tae Kwon Do team competed in the AAU Metropolitan Tae Kwon Do held at Queens College. This is 3rd straight year that the team has gone to this Tournament and 9 out of the 12 students that competed qualified to go the AAU Tae Kwon DO National Championship held in Fort Lauderdale Florida in July 2019. Over the last few years we have taken over 40 students to this Tournament and 29 of them have qualified to go to the Nationals this is a major accomplishment for the program.
